Faith Legacy Series Testimonies

Can be facilitated by lay leaders
The Faith Legacy Series is amazing. It's like Stepping Stones done well on DVD with a ton of support material. Because the DVDs are rock solid, the pastor could be confident in having it taught by lay leaders. The framework is all there. My suggestion… pick one of the DVDs and just start with that one. Add the next one when you're ready… etc.

Faith Legacy Series is a hit at our church!
Our church has just finished the first Faith Legacy Series. What a hit! Parents were excited about the class. We started with the First Bible. We had Dads come to the class that had not been in church for some time. The best part was to watch parents during the blessing event bless their child. Parents said their child looked at the Bible looking for the verses they had highlighted. In all my years in ministry this is the first time that after presenting Bibles on a Sunday that one did not get left behind. This is a great series that I would recommend to any church that is looking for a way to equip parents.

Bedtime routine was transformed into a special worship time
Our daughter was very excited to recieve her worship heart, and she was super pumped when Pastor Mark asked her to show him her kit after the service. When we got home, she renamed her vanity in her room "The worship table" and set everything out on it. She announced to me that I wouldn't be reading her our usual book before bed. Instead we would worship together in her room. So we read a couple of stories from her picture bible, read from our usual prayer book, and said an extra long prayer before she went to bed.

Instructional guidance with profound impact!
With Faith Legacy series, it's an instructional guide… a guidance that we need, thirst for, as busy working parents...a helpful encouragement to get back to basics to devotions and intentional investing of faith… a great time to collaborate and share experiences with other parents with similar aged children. It's a gift straight from the Lord to us parents… The utter, profound joy that my son's face had, at 6 years old, as he washed the feet of his parents and sister, and the connection he has about serving others at this age, is beyond awesome. Without this instruction and guidance, it would have just been a missed opportunity.

Our congregation has been blessed in many ways by the Faith Legacy Series!
We have been using the Faith Legacy series since Spring 2008. We really love it for several reasons:

• It equips the parents with resources and ideas for faith formation at home. Our parents have been crying for more resources.
• Parents learn from each other and encourage each other to try things.
• It helps us discover new leaders.
• Blessings - Our congregation loves watching and participating in them and the parents love writing them. The kids beg their parents "when is my turn to be blessed at church".
• It continues to raise awareness in the congregation of the vital need of faith formation at home.
• DADS! We have a great moms program already but this was an incredible way to bring dads into the mix. They have really stepped up and are taking an active involvement in the process.

Encouragement, ideas and prayers are shared in small groups.
Being in the Faith Legacy classes has given me the opportunity to share with other parents the problems of GETTING MY PRIORITIES STRAIGHT - The most important thing is to find time on a daily basis to spend time with God. Be it by praying, reading the Bible, discussing the gifts we receive daily from the Lord, or a family devotion night. It seems we all want to do these things, but we just don't seem to find the time. We all need the encouragement, ideas, and prayers from our fellow Christians. I've found my Faith Legacy to be a great experience.
