What is the overall objective of the curriculum?
In one word, we call it active discipleship. Five key goals of this approach
are the following:
Equipping for Ministry - It's more than
just giving information. It's giving a mission. Kids need to be equipped
to take their faith into their weekly activities. Kids are ministers,
too!
Centering on Jesus - We try to point to Jesus
in every lesson as the living Savior who brings the power of forgiveness
and new life. "We spread the message about Christ as we instruct
and teach everyone with all the wisdom there is. We want to present
everyone as mature Christian people" (Colossians 1:27-29, GW).
Learning with Fun - Kids learn best when having
fun. Using items from potatoes to water squirters, from games to drama,
kids are encountering Gods' Word in a language they can understand:
creative fun!
Building on Relationships - Jesus changed lives because he loved
people and got to know them. We use small group settings and build relationships
among kids and their shepherds.
Adjusting for Flexibility - This curriculum expects
to be changed and modified to better fit your church or setting. It's
easy to edit and shape according to your strengths.

What happens in Kingdom Quest?
Kingdom Quest is our active discipleship model of Sunday school. It replaces
yesterday's model of paper and pencil activity where one teacher did all
the teaching. Now there are specialists like a large group leader. Our format
gathers students into a large group for creative Bible presentation and breaks
them into small groups for personal application. You may view a lesson
tour for each age group.
For what age groups is Kingdom Quest available?
Ages 2 & 3
Ages 4-5-K
Grades 1-4
Grades 5-6
How can grades 1-4 use the same Kingdom Quest materials?
Developmentally, there is quite a span between first and fourth graders. But
if you put them all together for a large group Bible presentation, they all
will thoroughly enjoy it and learn from it. When in small groups, shepherds
tune into the kids and help each age level make application to their own lives.
Shepherds can easily bend the application activity to fit the needs of that
age group. It really does work!

What do I get when I purchase Kingdom Quest?
First, you get all you need for your shepherds, small group leaders, large
group leaders, and administrators. Secondly, each Kingdom Quest Grades 1-4
lesson comes with a "Shepherd's Path," "God Talk at Home,"
and "Supply List." Thirdly, an Administration Handbook is
included to aid in implementing our curriculum.
"Shepherd's Path" is for shepherds in the elementary
grades. This reproducible sheet helps them prepare for their weekly lesson
by taking that topic and applying it to their own personal devotions for
the week.
"God Talk at Home" is a reproducible sheet that
goes home with kids in Ages 4-5-K and Grades 1-4. These sheets use the main
point of the lesson as a springboard for family devotional activities. Each
God Talk includes a creative activity that captures everyone's attention
around the learning point.
"Supply List" is included with each series.

What happens in Kids Church?
Children gather for worship, active Bible discovery and prayer. In short,
it is a worship and word experience designed for kids. Kids Church lessons
fit a similar theme as Kingdom Quest for that week.
Two Kids Church materials are available. The younger level
is designed for ages 4-5-K and may work to include 3-year-olds as well. The older level is for first through fourth graders. You may view a lesson
tour for each age group.

How do I use Kids Church?
Kids Church works great as a second hour option for Children's ministry.
Churches who have two hours of quality programming for children's ministry
usually experience a challenge enlisting enough volunteers to repeat their
Sunday school for the second hour. Kids Church works wonderfully in such a
setting. It is mostly a large group setting and uses fewer volunteers, and
it easily incorporates helpers signed up just for a Sunday or two each month.
Kids Church can make a simple summer Sunday School experience.
For a summer special, Kids Church could be used as a family worship and learning
experience. It could even be used for an evening VBS.
Kids Church can be used for midweek programming.
Kids Church is flexible and coordinates with your Sunday morning theme if
you are using Kingdom Quest.

How can you help me implement Kids Church?

suggestions.

What is the overall objective of the Faith Legacy Series?
Our objective of encouraging parents to nurture their children's faith at home is threefold: 1. content, 2. motivation and 3. easy delivery.
- Each step gives easy to use ideas and plans for parents to use at home. Ideas from other parents in the group are shared during the discussion questions.
- Our Faith Legacy Series is every two years. This helps parents develop relationships and hold each other accountable in these groups. For those who have fallen out of their nurturing plan, it gives them a chance to get back at it with more ideas.
- Wow, is this easy to use:
- Only three sessions of DVD teachings interspersed with small group discussions.
- It doesn't require experts, but rather advocates (if you can run a DVD machine, you are set)
- Implementation helps are included
- Blessing event takes 5 minutes during a worship service
Back to the top
What is a Blessing Event?
When the three sessions are complete, parents speak a personalized blessing over their child while giving the child a blessing object. Their child receives an object with symbolic significance to be kept in his or her Faith Chest, which symbolizes the treasure of faith in the child's heart. This blessing event can take place in a worship service so the whole church can better support parents helping their children know, love and follow Jesus.

Where can these Faith Legacy Steps be held and how often?
Each step can be held either at the church or in one of the participant's homes. Check out a sample schedule of how a church can use all five steps throughout the calendar year.

What special supplies will I need?
The supply lists for each age group will vary. Enlist a Supply Coordinator for each age group to gather supplies. It's fun to partner with someone who likes to shop or put your list up and have members partner with you to donate items needed. Many supplies can be borrowed from people within your church. As much as possible, we try to use materials that are easily available around the home.
A few basic costumes are required for Bible characters. We offer a Sew-It-Yourself Bible Costumes DVD to help you create simple costumes and drama accessories for your children's ministry. Video excerpts are often used. You would also do well to order a quality puppet. We give you sources for all of this in the lesson or Administration Handbook.

What special facility considerations are needed?
 |
For Kingdom Quest, you will need one large meeting area where all first through
fourth graders can gather for large group. An ideal setting would include
a stage with a sound system and focused lighting. Dream big!
You will also need various spaces where small groups of six
to ten kids and their shepherds can meet. Think about using dividers to section
rooms, sitting on the floor with round table cloths, or using beanbags instead
of chairs.
|
 |
For Kids Church, you will need an area for a large group to
meet and worship. Some of the large group games might be held in the same
space or moved to a more open area (outside if climate permits). Think out
of the box
literally! |
Raise the value of your children's ministry by making your
facility more child-friendly and creatively decorated. When you grow in attendance,
be prepared to ask the adults for more space.

Can I recycle this material?
Certainly. For example, Kingdom Quest Grades 1-4 leads children through the
Bible four times in four years. After that, you can use the same material
again, this time with your own edits and applications. A whole new group of
children will experience it for the first time. Each year includes 58 lessons
so you can arrange them to fit your calendar.
Can I see the curriculum in action?
Yes. Occasionally, we offer a guest weekend when you can experience Kingdom
Quest and Kids Church in person. Please check out our guest weekend information
and dates.
How do I purchase the material?
You can order it online and download the material, or you can order a CD to
be mailed to you. You can also call us at 1-888-549-8687 to order a CD. From
that, you would then print a set of originals, make photocopies, and place
them in individual notebooks to give to your leaders.
