Through the Eyes of an Angel starts with the reading of Max Lucado’s book Alabaster’s Song: Christmas Through the Eyes of an Angel. It then moves to a scripted drama, dancing angels and audience participation with the singing of Christmas carols throughout the program.
The Christmas Story is witnessed through the eyes of two angels, Sapphire and Ruby. They are awed by the love the Lord has shown to us through his birth.
Sapphire is an inquisitive boy angel who is interested in the affairs of men and the mystery of God becoming flesh. Often Sapphire is puzzled by the events unfolding and remarks: “Go Figure.”
Ruby is a girl angel who has seen the glory of God and his plan unfold as he sends Jesus into the world. She is eager to help Sapphire see the glory in all of it. They watch as the Christmas story unfolds through the text of Luke 2:1-20.
