Spiritual Parenting at Home (May 17, 2011)
Parents play a critical role in their children’s faith development. The fact that 80% of people who come to faith do so before the age of 15 emphasizes the need for effective spiritual nurture in the home. To meet this need, Kids Kount Publishing, a Christian children’s publisher based in Omaha, Nebraska, offered a free webcast designed to strengthen skills that help guide parents to intentionally share faith.
The webcast titled Spiritual Parenting at Home is available now to watch at KidMin TV.
The program features Rev. Dr. Roger Theimer, team lead at Kids Kount Publishing. Dr. Theimer has a passion to help congregations better understand the significance of children and to raise the value for this “mission critical” ministry throughout the Christian church.
Dr. Theimer co-authored the Kids Kount Faith Legacy Series, a DVD-based program that brings faith into the home from birth through the teen years. Since launching the program, King of Kings Lutheran Church, where Dr. Theimer also serves as Family Pastor, reports that 40% of parents are now actively engaged in sharing the faith in their homes. The webcast provides more details about the Faith Legacy Series and an in-depth exploration of the theory that supports the curriculum.
